Sibling Coordinator, Kendall Powell, is from Owenton, KY. Her older brother, Daniel, was diagnosed with 18Q- around 4 years old, right when Kendall made her appearance in the world. Dedicated parents made sure Kendall grew up with a front row seat to all things Chromosome 18 related-- meaning KP was brought to every appointment, specialist, and extracurricular activity from day one. After attending her first Conference at age 11, Kendall became an ultra-plugged in sibling to the C18 Sib network.
Kendall took over as Sibling Coordinator in 2019 with a goal to maintain the sense of community older siblings had set up, also while furthering siblings' understanding and education about chromosome 18 abnormalities. Shes also passionate about linking siblings of multiple ages together to create a long lasting web of support for children of all ages. With a degree in Genetics, a passion for rotten teenagers, and buckets of energy to spare, Kendall aims for the Sibling Conference experience to be fun, educational, vulnerable, and impactful for sibs of all ages.
Outside of the C18 world, Kendall lives in Downtown Cincinnati, OH and works as the Creative Director of HealthWarehouse.com, while moonlighting as a cooking school instructor/assistant. She loves running, cooking, traveling, putting her dog in funny outfits, and forcing her boyfriend to take pictures with her.
