Neale Parker has been Executive Director of the Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society since April 2016. With over 20 years of experience with working with Not For Profits (NFP) in the varied capacity of staff, board chair, board member and volunteer, he brings a unique experience to running this wide reaching organization. Being part of the San Antonio NFP community and developing contacts with foundations, universities, organizations, and of course community partners has helped broaden Chromosome 18’s outreach significantly over the last few years. Most recently, Neale graduated the Master Leadership Program San Antonio in the spring of 2020 and volunteers on the Board of Girls on the Run – Bexar County and is an officer of the Fiesta Commission in San Antonio.
His business experience includes owning multiple niche companies in the media industry including book publishing, record label, distribution, copyright ownership and licensing with offices in Chicago, Toronto & London. Before moving to the US, he had been an executive of Coca-Cola, UK, owner of aluminum foundry. Neale was also part of investment group that purchased a division of a large publicly traded company that was developed and sold.Cynthia Parsons has been a tremendous help, support, and life partner for over 25 years through this process and volunteers in many varied ways with Chromosome 18. Neale’s hobbies include tennis, swimming, hiking, travel, wine, reading and when time allows cooking. Both Neale & Cynthia, in their own small way, understand some of the challenges involved with dealing with a chronic disease process and understand that every day is different for each one of the Chromosome 18 families.
