Brad was born in a small town in Central Utah called Salina. Brad gained a strong work ethic while working with his father and grandfathers on their farms. Growing up in such a small community meant that Brad was able to participate in basketball, baseball and track at North Sevier High School. After graduating from High School Brad attended Southern Utah University and majored in Engineering. After one year at Southern Utah University Brad served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Brazil.

Upon his return from Brazil, Brad enrolled in Brigham Young University and changed his major to Economics. The year Brad graduated from Brigham Young University he also married Debra K. Stubbs and started his banking career at First State Bank in Salina, Utah. Brad began his career as a commercial lender. At First State Bank Brad was involved in all types of lending, from Agricultural loans to business acquisition loans. Brad joined the Zions Bank team in 1978 when Zions Bank purchased First State Bank. While living in Salina Brad served as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician for 7 years. He also served as President of the Salina Chamber of Commerce.

Brad SheppardIn 1981 Brad and his family moved to Sandy, Utah and he became the manager of the Cottonwood Mall Office of Zions Bank. Brad has held many positions within Zions and retired January 2nd, 2020. He has been a branch manager, area manager, commercial lender, regional credit manager, Region President, Senior Director of Retail Banking for Zions Bank and Executive Vice President of Small Business Banking.

In 1996 Brad took a sabbatical leave from banking and served his church as a Mission President in Salvador Brazil until 1999. Upon his return from Brazil Brad continued his career with Zions Bank.

Brad has been involved in many community organizations. Brad has been an avid supporter of United Way of Salt Lake and served as a loaned executive to the organization. Brad is also involved with the Huntsman Cancer Foundation and served on the Board of the Children’s Service Society of Utah.

Brad and Debra have eight children and currently twenty-seven grandchildren. Brad loves the outdoors where he and his sons have enjoyed hunting and fishing experiences. Brad loves to play golf and he and Debra enjoy travelling.
