On April 29th 2023, Chromosome 18 Registry and Research Society held the 6th Annual Chromosome 18 Starfish Dash 5k Run/Walk & Health Fair in San Antonio, Texas. This event was an Official Fiesta Event and free for anyone to participate in. Along with amazing community partners, we were able to provide a Health and Wellness Fair to anyone who came out to event; that include health screenings, blood pressure testing and so much more!
This year’s honoree, 9-year-old Emily Villalobos, and her family participated in the Dash hand in hand. The Villalobos live in San Antonio, Texas.
Chromosome 18 Clinical Research Center is the leading global research center for chromosome 18 conditions right here at UT Health San Antonio and is celebrating 31 years of cutting-edge research. Funds for this research come through from events like this and the more funds raised the faster the Research Center can develop treatments to improve the lives of our families.
