Inspired by the story of the stranded starfish, wherein making a difference to even one life is significant, our Soiree encapsulates the very spirit of our organization’s mission. Join fellow golfers, chromosome 18 families, and community members in celebration on the evening before the Annual Golf Tournament. The reception will feature specialty cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, wine pull, and silent and live auction, all while taking in the breathtaking natural beauty at Oak Hills Country Club. Every golfer is invited to attend the Soiree plus one to bring along and join in the fun, all included in the price of the Golf Tournament registration. It’s an evening dedicated to celebrating our achievements, sharing inspiring stories of our children and families, and setting the stage for the road ahead. The Soiree is a celebration of the impact that your individual and collective contributions can have, akin to saving one starfish at a time.
The Golf Tournament – October 6th, 2023, 12:00PM

Chromosome 18 is excited to announce this year will be the 19th Anniversary of our Annual Golf Tournament! Join us on Friday October 6th for a fun-filled day of golfing in support of our chromosome 18 children and families. Play 18 holes at the renowned Quarry Golf Course in San Antonio, TX while raising money to help special-needs children and adults with chromosome 18 abnormalities live healthy, productive lives. A day on the greens is more than just a leisurely sport for our community. This event symbolizes unity, hope, and an unwavering dedication to helping special-needs chromosome 18 children and their families.
The day will begin with registration at noon, a light lunch at 12:30 PM, followed by a short program at 1:15 PM and shotgun start at 1:30 PM. Players will be allowed to warm up with unlimited golf balls on the driving range and putting green before being assigned to their cart. Following a brief description of the rules, a short welcome, and a balloon release in memory of those with chromosome 18 conditions we have lost, everyone will disperse to the 18 holes. The game is best ball along with additional hole events and prizes, all for a good cause. The day will conclude with an awards ceremony and hors d’oeuvres with stunning views of the Quarry Golf Course. There are numerous restaurants, bars, and activities around the Quarry if you want to continue the fun after, as well as nearby hotel accommodations right in the center of everything San Antonio has to offer. Our 19th year will bring the best golf tournament yet, we can’t wait to see you there!
