The Irene McKay I Can Do That Virtual 5K Run/Walk

The Irene McKay I Can Do That Virtual 5K Run/Walk will be held from the 1st through the 30th of April, 2016.

This is the third annual fundraiser for the Registry in honor of Irene McKay Moran, daughter of Susan Moran and granddaughter of Winifred and Luther Young.  The first event was an actual 5K held in Springfield, MO on April 12, 2014.  This is the second virtual race.  A virtual race is one where participants keep account of their miles ran/walked over a certain period.  Then at the end of that period total up their mileage.  In this case participants are being asked to pledge a certain monetary amount, for example fifty cents, for each mile they either run and/or walk during the month of April.  In May the participants will then make a contribution/donation to The Chromosome 18 Registry and Research Society in the amount totaling their mileage times their pledged monetary amount.  (For example:  $.50 x 100 miles = $50.00)  Participants may send either a check or money order to The Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society, or use this link to make their donation with a debit or credit card.  Questions may be directed to Luther Young at retusafe890@yahoo.com.
