The Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society has partnered with Alamo Colleges, the University of Texas at San Antonio, and Family Service Association to host work study associates and interns. Through our community partners, we are growing awareness of our mission, increasing community engagement, and helping provide hands-on experience to the individuals working with us that will benefit them throughout their professional careers. Here are some of the things our work study associates and interns have had to say about us in the past:
“Working with the Registry helped me learn a lot with different computer programs I could use for school. I learned a lot more about Chromosome 18 conditions and I got to broaden my experience working with people and attention to detail to ensure accuracy of data. It has helped me to develop better communication skills.” – Destiny Harper, Family Youth Service High School Internship
“Since working at the Registry, I have enhanced my communication skills, as well as my leadership skills. Working at Chromosome 18 has not only given me an idea of what a non-profit is but has also given my an idea of what it takes to work in a non-profit organization.” – Agnes Espericueta, Alamo Colleges Work Study Associate
