Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series

The Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society began our relationship with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series in Chicago on July 20, 2014.  We had 15 runners with half participating in the half-marathon and the other half participating in the 5k.  We have since participated in the race in our hometown of San Antonio and 7 additional races across the U.S.  To date we have raised over $75,000 to fund Registry services and research .  We have committed to the following cities for 2016. Phantom Tea

Our 20th annual Phantom Tea has concluded for 2015.  Thank you to all that participated by donating and raising funds.  Our current total sits at $80,000 raised and we are still counting!  Please join us again next December for another successful Phantom Tea campaign.

Each December, we host our annual year end fundraiser called “Phantom Tea.”  This is a virtual tea party that allows members, friends, and family to join together and raise funds for chromosome 18 research in hopes of “making chromosome 18 conditions the first treatable chromosome abnormalities.”  We encourage those that choose to participate to enjoy a cup of tea from the comfort of home and think of our loved ones who are affected by a chromosome 18 abnormality.  This is one of our most successful annual fundraisers.  We hope that you will join us for tea!”

Our tea is given, you see,10923608_10205945859390776_1737870245751014845_n
To help our children with special needs.
Your funds will help our programs to expand,
so our children’s problems we will someday understand.

It’s the most delightful benefit you will ever attend,
And it is just money and love that you will send.
So on that Sunday, the first one of December,
We will have tea in hopes you’ll remember.

No cookies to bake or silver to lend,
No linens to launder or beg from a friend.
You don’t have to worry about what to wear,
And no car fare or parking to give you a care.

So here is a virtual tea bag, don’t put it away.
Mark your calendar now and remember that day.
Sit down and relax, sip the tea at your pleasure,
Your generous gift will always be treasured.
