2010 marks the 20th anniversary of the Chromosome 18 & Registry Society.  To celebrate, we're inviting all our members to "Take the Twenty Pledge". For more details about the "Take the Twenty Pledge", go here.

Members' Pledges:

• Dan and Kate Schilly got 20 people to join the Registry's Facebook group!

• Dan and Kate Schilly are sending out their Phantom Tea letter on 2-20-10!

• Lorie Stevenson talked to a Registry friend for 20 minutes!  She also Facebooked another Registry friend for 20 minutes!

• In honor of the 20th anniversary of the Registry, Lorie Stevenson made a donation!

• Lorie Stevenson's daughter, Shelby Ann,  is turning 20 this year!!  This one is more of a coincidence than a pledge, but all the same...Happy Birthday, Shelby Ann!

• Kristen Earl has made several pledges to celebrate the Registry's 20th birthday!  She has pledged to...  

  • Hand out 20 Registry bookmarks to her friends!

  • Spend 20 minutes 20 times over the upcoming year familiarizing herself with the Registry website

  • Print 20 copies of the 18p- write-up to educate physicians, teachers, therapists, etc.

  • Made 20 posts on Registry listservs

  • Got 20 friends to join the Registry Facebook group

  • Told 20 people about the Registry

  • Spent 20 minutes browsing chromosome 18-related websites

  • Created an online photo album using 20 photos

  • Listed 20 things that she has learned since becoming a part of the chromosome 18 family, and shared them with her friends

  • Spent 20 minutes to contact a government official to encourage them to support individuals with chromosome abnormalities

  • Provided information about tetrasomy 18p to 20 individuals

  • Found 20 websites that should link to www.chromosome18.org, and she asked them to add a link to our website

  • Made a 20 minute phone call to a friend that helped after the diagnosis was made

  • Made a 20 minute phone call  to a new member of the chromosome 18 family to offer her support and wisdom

• Sara Jackson sends us our first trans-Atlantic pledge!!  She has pledged to...

  • Try to find 20 different sponsors for the Registry's European conference

  • Offer Bonnie at the European branch help 20 times before the conference in July

  • Add another 20 of her friends as fans to the Registry's Facebook group

  • Make sure that her C18 friends know how much she appreciates them at least 20 times this year

  • Count to 20 and smile every time a medical person frustrates her

  • Tell her Louis 20 times a week how proud she is of him and his progress

  • Tell Louis's big brother Jacob 20 times a week what a kind and wonderful boy he is

  • Thank Louis and Jacob's dad Daniel for dipping his toe in and learning a little more

  • Find 20 influential people and tell them about the Registry

  • Get 20 people to learn more about 18p deletion this year

  • Look at the Registry's website to fill in gaps in her knowledge at least 20 times this year

• Liz Connor has pledged a monetary donation every month for the next 20 months!

  • Made 20 posts on Registry listservs (so be on the lookout for lots of emails from Melanie!)

  • Wear her Registry shirt 20 times over the course of the year

  • Give Registry bookmarks to 20 of her reading friends

  • Get 20 friends to join the Registry Facebook Group or Cause (She's already achieved this goal! She's had more than 35 friends join!!)

  • Upload 20 photos of her family and other C18 families! (She already has uploaded those photos to the Registry Facebook group.  They're great photos, and we highly recommend checking them out!)

• Hannah Borello of Lockport, Illinois turned nine recently.  To celebrate her birthday and the Registry's 20th birthday, her parents (Jeff and Kathy) invited 20 friends to Hannah's party and asked them to donate to the Registry in lieu of gifts.  Those donations were sent to the office and added to the "Birthday" celebration!
